Started in the year 2000 by a group of professionals from different fields, SCOPE focuses on development in the areas of sustainable livelihood, natural resource management, conservation of bio diversity, improved quality of life and environment, through community participation. Our approach is to:

To mobilize and empower the rural community especially the poor, women and other disadvantaged sections of the society
Identify and prioritize problems affecting their lives in areas such as livelihood, natural resources and quality of life.
Design participatory action plans to realize sustainable development in identified problem areas.
To facilitate the community to harness their indigenous knowledge and to choose appropriate technologies for improved management of natural resources for better livelihood.
To assist the community in synchronizing its economic and ecological progress.
To encourage the community to understand, analyse and improve the prevailing situations through participatory, equitable and holistic processes.
